This is the first draft of my pop music magazine front cover. My initial plan was to create a cover that represented my chosen genre. I think my photo worked well with this idea, because in the photo the model is smiling. She is also giving the audience eye contact which hopefully makes the readers happy when looking at it, I also dressed her up in a floral top and a skirt, which is generally known as a quite a girly outfit. A prop was also used in this photo to symbolise that pop can be quite feminine and the umbrella also links into the dull surroundings and water features. I chose to use a purple font because I wanted to use a colour scheme that matched the clothes, representing the femininity of the pop culture. I also used black and white outlines for the headlines of the magazine so that it becomes eye catching to the desired audience. I also added a purple band to the bottom of my cover, once again matching my colour scheme to show the readers who else will be featured in the magazine.

After completing my first draft, I can see that there is plenty to improve. For starters I also want to add a barcode to make it seem more believable as a real magazine. I also want to use a bolder outline on the main article to make it seem more important and stand out from the dull background. When improving my cover, I want to think about adding more articles or maybe show contests and free posters that will be inside.
